Live Sessions • Weekly Feedback • Real Outcomes

Professional Skills

MEET YOUR MENTOR

I’m Alexei. I know there’s more to becoming an artist than learning to play.

I’m a musician, songwriter, performer, producer and educator, and I’ve spent the last decade helping musicians develop their skills, confidence and creative identity.

Alongside around 10,000 hours of teaching, I’ve built my own career writing and releasing original music, recording, performing across the UK and internationally, and navigating the realities of being an independent artist.

The Artist’s Way brings those two worlds together.

This isn’t about teaching you to copy how I make music. It’s about helping you understand how you work as an artist developing the practical skills, confidence and experience to make decisions for yourself, take creative risks and move your music forwards.

Performance isn’t just about playing accurately.

Module One begins by looking at performance as a skill in its own right.

Across the opening weeks, you’ll explore what an audience actually experiences when you perform and develop the practical skills that help you communicate with greater confidence, intention and presence.

BEGINS SEPT 2026

PLAY. RECORD. WATCH. ANALYSE. EXPERIMENT.

01 — MODULE ONE

Playing Your Part

Performance is a skill in its own right.

Playing accurately is only part of what makes a performance work.

Module One explores what an audience actually experiences when you perform. Through playing, recording, watching and experimenting, you'll begin developing greater awareness of how you communicate through your instrument.

The aim isn't perfection. It's learning how to make intentional performance choices.

PERFORM · RECORD · WATCH · REFLECT

02 — MODULE TWO

Developing Your Artistry

Move from playing the music to making it your own.

Once the foundations of performance are in place, the focus shifts towards artistic identity.

Module Two gives you space to explore interpretation, creativity and the choices that make your work distinctive. You'll experiment with ideas, challenge familiar habits and develop greater confidence in your own musical decisions.

It's about discovering what you want to say and how you want to say it.

EXPLORE · CREATE · EXPERIMENT · DEVELOP

03 — MODULE THREE

Presenting Your Music

Take your development beyond the practice room.

The final module brings your performance and artistic development into a wider professional context.

You'll explore the practical skills, mindset and decision-making involved in recording, and producing music as an independent artist from capturing your first takes to finalising your radio mix, thinking strategically about where your music could go next.

The focus shifts from “Am I good enough?” towards “What do I want to build?”
